About the PTFA

What Does The PTFA Do?

We’re here to support the school with many activities – school trips, discos and educational resources are just some of the many added extras we fund raise for.

How Do I Join?

Just chat to us …it’s not a private members’ club – if your child/children attend Long Sutton, that makes you already a member! A list of committee members and helpers can be found on the cloakroom board in school.

How Often Do PTFA Meetings Take Place?

Meetings are held regularly, say once a month, but aren’t just paper shuffling affairs. We like to keep things informal, to encourage participation and inspiring ideas from all that attend. These are often social events held in a local pub/restaurant, giving potential new members a chance to get to know others and get involved in a friendly, comfortable, social setting.

We’d love to hear your feedback and new ideas …don’t be shy, if you have a great idea – come and chat to us.

What Can I Do to Help?

Really, as little or as much as you can offer. Whether that be an hour or two helping out at a school disco, wrapping Christmas presents for the children at home or just put forward ideas or suggestions on how you would like to see the PTFA support your children is ALL valuable to us as a group, and the school as a whole.

Giving a little back to the school, serving the local community and providing resources and additional activities, really does benefit us all and will help to create great, long lasting memories for the children, throughout their school lives.

When Can I Get Involved?

Anytime time that suits you …we know how important it is to ensure your children feel settled and happy in school.  We also understand that life is pretty hectic for parents too, so we’re not hear to pressurise, just to be a voice for parents in providing those special ‘extras’ that the school and children benefit from.
